What you should know
to take full advantage of this advanced Product.
Percent of Charge
Stay Cooler
The optimum ambient temperature for charging a Lithium battery is
5°C to +45°C / 41°F to 113°F.
Charge slow
Always charge slow when you can. Our units allow you to charge at very slow
rates or quickly when the need arises.
The Smaller the Battery the Slower
Do not charge to full capacity for general use 80 or 90 percent is a good level to charge to.
100pct only when you are preparing for a long ride.
Do not store your lithium batteries
fully charged or fully discharged.
80 pct is an accepted norm.
Safety. Charge out of doors or in a
non-combustible environment.
High Voltage Cutoff
10S (36V pack) – 42V max voltage
13S (48V pack) – 54.4V max voltage
14S (52V pack) – 58.8V max voltage
Low Voltage Cutoff
36V (10S) – 27.5 volts
48V (13S) – 36 volts
52V (14S) – 39 volts
The 18650 is popular cylindrical lithium cell, with a capacity of 2500 mAh. The datasheet recommends a 1250 mA constant current charge, then 4.2 V per cell constant voltage charge, and charge termination when the current drops to 50 mA.
1250ma 1.25amp constant current charge to start recharge.
When current drops to 50ma .05amps discontinue charge.
Typical voltage charge parameters.
